Mojave Air and Space Port and the R2508 Airspace Complex
Flight Research, Inc. is located at Mojave Air and Space Port (KMHV), the Civilian Flight Test Center. It is the only facility of its kind in the world and Flight Research has use of any and all capabilities available.
Mojave Air and Space Port has three runways, the longest of which is more than 12,000 feet. Mojave also has several unique facilities, including flight test ground courses, handling qualities ground courses, UAS surveillance and inspection training area and an area for tethered helicopter operations.
Flight Research has the privilege of utilizing the R2508 airspace complex, an airspace system set up by the U.S. Department of Defense for flight test operations. The complex stretches approximately 350 miles north to south and 200 miles east to west, from the surface up to 50,000 feet. KMHV is located in the southwest corner of the airspace, hence there is zero transit time to working areas.
