OUR COURSE OFFERINGS

WE LOOK FORWARD TO ENSURING THE TRAINING YOU RECEIVE WILL BE THE BEST AND MOST HELPFUL YOU’LL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR FLYING CAREER.

At Flight Research, we take great pride in ensuring each of our students receives the maximum benefit from their time with us. We strive to learn every student’s experience and individual needs, and work closely with them throughout their stay to ensure they receive a solid understanding, both in the classroom and in flight, of the principles and skills involved in proper upset recognition and recovery. All with the overarching goal of helping them become better, safer pilots.

Upset Recognition and Recovery Training Courses

We offer two-day, three-day, and four-day courses – each with specific objectives and benefits. In every course, instructors work alongside their students to help them gain the knowledge and experience necessary to enhance their personal comfort levels and capabilities in everyday flight operations. Course costs range from $4,450.00 to $22,000.00 for our standard programs.

Classroom time typically runs in fifty-minute blocks, alternated with flight time. All training flights include a pre-brief, a minimum of one hour in-flight, followed by an extensive de-brief to help ensure solid retention and understanding of the lessons learned.  All of our courses include egress training, as well as custom fitting of helmets, oxygen masks, and parachutes by our highly trained personal equipment specialists.  During your training, you will be able to use a "Flight Research" flight suit, boots and flying gloves. Students will also get to know their aircraft crew chief and maintenance teams, and will gain a good understanding of the high safety standards we maintain. Please feel free to contact our training staff with any questions, and we will be happy to assist you in determining the course that would best meet your needs.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT/FLIGHT TECHNICIAN URRT TRAINING COURSE

The Flight Attendant training program at Flight Research is the only training program in the world to offer hands on, real flight upset training for flight attendants and flight technicians. Crew members will actually feel what happens during these potential scenarios, lessening the startle effect and increasing knowledge and confidence. This type of training is invaluable to your company and the passengers that it serves, increasing the safety of the flight department. Flight Research supports total crew integration by offering training to every member of the flight crew.  This course runs concurrent with our existing two and three day URRT platforms.

PROFESSIONAL JET URRT - FOUR-DAY COURSE

Our four-day course is ideal for pilots undertaking their first upset recognition and recovery training.  Pilots fly 3 different types of aircraft, The North American Sabreliner, MB-326 Impala and Slingsby T-67 Firefly, working their way up in complexity and performance to full jet upsets.  Course studies include basic and advanced aerodynamics as related to aircraft loss of control including high altitude and high speed topics, as well as full use of the full flight envelope. Students begin with the basics in the T-67 Firefly.  You will then move to advanced maneuvering in the heavier North American Saberliner where you will practice basic recovery maneuvers and scenario-driven flight examples.  Lastly, you will receive two flights in the MB-326 Impala for full high performance and inverted maneuvers using a highly advanced turbine platform.

PROFESSIONAL JET URRT - THREE-DAY COURSE

Our three-day course is ideal for customers who are already comfortable with all- attitude flying and would like to focus primarily on in-flight upset recognition and recovery techniques. Classroom work includes advanced aerodynamics as related to aircraft loss of control including high altitude and high speed topics, as well as full use of the full flight envelope and best practices for recovery options and techniques. Air work is conducted in both the North American Sabreliner and the MB-326 Impala and includes a more comprehensive set of maneuvers, additional practice on basic recovery maneuvers, and scenario-driven flight examples. Three-Day students also receive two Impala flights during their time in Mojave providing in depth instruction on advanced handling and recovery techniques.

PROFESSIONAL JET URRT - TWO-DAY COURSE

Our two-day course is ideal for refresher training for repeat customers. Classroom work is streamlined within each of the various blocks to allow extra focus on perishable skills. Air work includes flights in both the Sabreliner and the MB-326 Impala, as well as pre- and post-flight reviews and summaries. Following a student’s completion of either our Four-Day or Three-Day Course, we recommend the Two-Day course be undertaken every two years to ensure top-of-mind awareness of upset recognition and skill retention of proper in-flight recovery techniques.
