Bolkow BO105M
The Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm BO-105 (now Eurocopter) was one of the first production helicopters with a ridge rotor head. The MBB BO-105 is an all metal single engine, light multirole rotary wing aircraft. The BO-105 design incorporates a single main lifting rotor and a tail rotor to provide anti-torque and directional control. The main rotor is a four-bladed ridged design driven by two 420 SHP Allison 250-C20B’s turboshaft engines.
As configured, a total seating for four, including two pilots in the front seats and two engineering stations in rear bench seats. Behind the rear seats and below the engine is a freight/baggage compartment accessible by two claim shell doors in the rear of the fuselage. The BO-105 will be fully instrumented for engineering flight testing by mid-2005.
